MB Engineering Solutions is in the business of extending lives – of mining equipment, that is.

Based in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, the company supports the local mining industry, predominantly coal handling and preparation plants (CHPPs), with a wide range of engineering and maintenance services from mechanical, structural and civil design to component supplies, equipment overhauls, fabrications and re-engineering components to fit existing equipment.

Mark Breasley, MB Engineering’s managing director and a mechanical engineer himself, says the team at MB Engineering work closely with their mining clients to understand the issues they are facing, then proposing maintenance improvements that can extend their assets’ lives.

“With six office staff and ten workshop staff, we are still a small engineering company, but we have experienced significant growth in the last five years. A key factor to that growth has been our ability to listen to our clients’ issues and then providing cost-effective solutions in a timely manner,” says Mark.

Another contributor to MB Engineering’s success, as Mark points out, has been having stable supplier partners such as CBC.

“Working with CBC has allowed
us to supply quality parts to our clients, whether individually or fitted to our overhauled components. With CBC stocking our required parts, we have been able to supply our clients within their specified order times. CBC has also introduced new products to us that have improved our service to clients.”

Owen Barnett, CBC State Sales Manager who works directly with Mark, applauds MB Engineering’s ability to manage each project effectively.

“Mark is an experienced engineer, and his team offers a unique service with each project, right from engineering design to manufacturing. CBC also works closely with MB Engineering if they need any products or engineering support. You could say we work like hands in a glove.”

Mark says MB Engineering has great emphasis on supporting the local economy, through component purchases and using the local talent.

“Part of the charter for MB Engineering is to source products and spares locally. Our manufacturing and rebuilds are all done locally to support both the Hunter and the Australian business sectors.”
